Promote

Promote a funl.

Promoting your Funl is what turns “maybe” into “fully funded!” Our top-performing Creators don’t just post once, they show up 5–7 times throughout the week with posts, videos, and hype. The more you share, the more your Funl takes off.

Video

A personal & energetic video is key to getting folks excited to bid on your Funl. We recommend a more real & natural video that shows how personal this event will be.  However, if you want to create something more produced and professional, go for it!

While fans are bidding on your Funl, we recommend posting several video reels to your socials to build more interest and FOMO.

While shooting your main video, you may want to shoot a few short marketing videos to use while your Funl is open and fans are bidding.

Be sure to upload to your YouTube, Vimeo, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, etc … so all of your followers will know about your Funl!

Graphics

Using graphics to build excitement & scarcity can work really well. We recommend highlighting features of your event in the graphic with a reminder of how many tickets there are and days left to bid.  This helps build scarcity and FOMO (fear of missing out).

Our biggest Funls have used graphics for 5 days left, 3 days left, 2 days left, 1 day left, and last day to bid.

Canva has a free online tool you can use to add text to your image.
Fiverr.com is a very affordable option for graphic creation.

Post up.

Don’t forget to post on your socials and to your email list multiple times while your Funl is open and fans are bidding! We recommend posting at least 5-7 times while your Funl is open.

🔥 1. Tease Early

Start with curiosity. Post something like:

“Something special is coming. VIP access, once-in-a-lifetime experience. ”

Do this a few days before your Funl goes live. Drop hints, post behind-the-scenes clips, or ask questions like:

“If you could hang backstage with me, what would you ask?”

🎬 2. Create a Funl Launch Video

Make a short, personal video explaining what the experience is and why it’s special.

Talk directly to your fans – hype it like you’re inviting them into a secret club. Then:

  • Include it on your Funl page
  • Post it on socials
  • Send it to your email list

While shooting your Main Video, you may want to shoot a few short marketing videos to use while your Funl is open and fans are bidding.

🗓️ 3. Follow a Posting Schedule

We’ve included a quick 1-week example below.

📲 4. Use Multiple Platforms

Don’t limit yourself. Promote your Funl via:

  • Instagram (Stories + Reels)
  • TikTok (show behind-the-scenes or a message to your fans)
  • Twitter/X (daily reminders + countdowns)
  • Facebook (event + personal post)
  • Email list or text alerts if you have them
  • Discord/Patreon/YouTube Community tab
  • … wherever your audience is active

🤝 5. Engage and Respond

  • Reply to every comment and DM
  • Hype your bidders publicly (without sharing personal info)
  • Say things like: “I just saw someone go big with a bid – y’all better bring it 🔥”

🚀 Bonus Tips

  • Tag people or cities relevant to your event
  • Use phrases like “only a few will get in” to build exclusivity
  • Share past winners’ experiences if you have any

Sample schedule.

Let your content build energy as the week goes on! Here is a sample recommended posting schedule for a Funl that is open for 1 week Monday – Sunday:

Pre-Launch

Build some hype by posting a video hinting you have something special coming … a super-exclusive VIP event with only a few spots for your biggest fans.

How early and how often you post before your Funl goes live is totally up to you – but the earlier the hype, the hotter the bids.

Monday

It’s launch day – let the bidding begin! 🚀 Share your Funl page with your fans and get the excitement rolling. While your launch video is already embedded on your Funl page, consider posting it separately too with the link – more eyes, more hype, more bids.

Tuesday

Repost your teaser or launch video with a fresh caption. Remind fans this is a limited VIP experience.

Wednesday

🗓️ Midweek check-in! Highlight a unique aspect of your event and remind fans there’s still time to jump in.

Thursday

👀 Behind-the-scenes or “why this Funl matters” content. Share a personal note, past event highlight, or a cause your Funl may be highlighting.

Friday

🔥 FOMO Friday – remind fans of how exclusive this by highlighting how many spots are available alongside a “3 Days Left to Bid” image or video.

Saturday

⏱ Countdown post – just 24 hours left to bid! Drop a post sharing how pumped you are to meet the Funl winners and hang with them.

Sunday

🚨 Final call! Post a morning reminder, then an evening countdown. Remind fans bidding ends tonight – no second chances.

To the winners…

🎉 Hype up the winners! Send a quick update letting them know how pumped you are for the event. Tell them you can’t wait – and more details are coming soon!

Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of events is Funl perfect for?

Funl can technically handle any size event—but it thrives with smaller, VIP-style experiences. Think intimate, exclusive, high-touch. The fewer the tickets, the higher the demand. Fans love being one of only a few rather than being one of many, like they would be at a traditional concert or other large event.

Some standout Funls we’ve seen in action:

  • 12-person day in the studio with the band
  • 10-person beach getaway hosted by a popular drummer
  • 20-person Christmas party with a celebrity singer
  • 18-couple Valentine’s Day 5-course dinner with a jazz trio
  • 10-person Nashville experience with a popular artist including a studio tour
  • 3-person Online Masterclass and Hang Out with a popular blues guitarist
How long is the Funl bidding open?

There is not a required time period for bidding to be open however, we recommend keeping your Funl live for 1 week.

A 7-day window gives fans time to discover your event, place their bids, and jump back in if they get outbid.

How can I make my event “risk free” on Funl?

During Funl setup you can set a hidden reserve. This is the minimum total amount you need to make your event happen.

If bids meet or exceed that number, the event is on and fans are charged.

If not, no one’s charged, including you.

No guessing, no upfront costs - just a better way to bring your event to life.

How much does it cost to use Funl?

Launching a Funl is completely free.

For successfully funded Funls, you pay:

  • Platform fee of 10%
  • Stripe fees of 3.3% plus $.30 per transaction

The rest is yours! 💵 💵 💵

If bidding on your event does not meet or exceed your reserve, there is no charge.

Should I oversell my event?

In many cases, yes - we recommend overselling your Funl by about 10–20%.

Planning a 10-person event? Consider offering 11 or 12 tickets. While every bidder is pumped about your event, things happen - cards decline, emergencies pop up, and sometimes fans just can’t make it.

That said, if you have a strict physical limit - like exactly 10 seats at a table - then overselling isn’t worth the risk. Better to play it safe and stick to your limit.

How do I promote my Funl?

Promoting your Funl effectively means building hype, driving bids, and creating demand. Here’s a simple strategy to get you rolling.

How do I post a link to my Funl on Instagram?

Instagram does not allow links in a post. To get around this, you can put multiple links in your Instagram bio.
